    Description

    Rare EMBLEM / AMERICAN SHIELD pattern glass covered butter dish.  Circa late 1800's.
    A creamer in the Emblem pattern is shown in the Bessie Lindsey book:  Historical Glass, Plate No. 59.
    Size:  5 3/4" long;   appx 6" high with lid on
    Condition:
    This butter dish is in poor condition.
    The major issues are listed but the more we look the more problems we see so we may not have caught everything.
    This butter dish is being sold strictly in as-is condition.  NO returns accepted
    .  BASE:  crack that goes across base of foot - see pics;  crack that starts at top of shield and extends 1/2" below stars border; at least 3 other small cracks which start at the top and extend into the star border; multiple crazing type lines, and there may be other small cracks;  2 chips on top edge of base.  TOP:  4 chips on bottom edge of top including one on the tip of the shield.
    Shipping:  All glass is shipped, carefully packed, so it will arrive safely.  Insurance is included in shipping.
